Project Overview
I worked closely with the team on design systems supporting multiple digital products and experiences.
My role focused on analyzing existing interfaces and translating established UI patterns into structured, reusable systems. Rather than redesigning the products themselves, the goal was to understand how the existing experiences worked, identify recurring patterns, and turn them into well-organized foundations, components, compositions, and page layouts.
The result was a more systematic design environment that made existing patterns easier to reuse, maintain, and scale across different experiences.
My Contribution
I was responsible for auditing existing product interfaces, identifying reusable patterns, and translating them into structured design system libraries.
Key responsibilities included:
- Auditing existing interfaces and design files
- Identifying recurring UI patterns and inconsistencies
- Building and organizing foundations
- Creating reusable components and their variants
- Combining components into larger compositions and patterns
- Creating example page layouts to demonstrate how the system worked in context
- Reviewing libraries to ensure elements were properly componentized
- Maintaining consistency across components, compositions, and layouts
Outcome
The final libraries provided a structured representation of existing product patterns, from foundational styles to reusable components and complete layout examples.
By documenting and componentizing these patterns, the system created a clearer framework for maintaining consistency and building future experiences using established UI behaviors and visual rules.
The project strengthened my experience working with large-scale design systems and taught me to approach interfaces not only as individual screens, but as interconnected systems of reusable decisions.
